Timba Frita (Guava Rolls with Powdered Sugar)

Makes 4 units

Ingredients:
4 spring roll wrappers
8 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. guava jam
powdered sugar
vegetable oil for frying

Directions:
Place the spring roll wrappers on a work surface. Put 2 oz. cream cheese on each wrapper, along the bottom edge, leaving a 1-inch border at the bottom and sides.

Pour the guava jam into a squeeze bottle and drizzle about 1 oz. of jam over the cream cheese. With a brush dipped in water, moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the right and left sides in by 1 inch, and then fold and roll the bottom of the wrapper up and over the filling. Moisten the seam and tuck it underneath to keep the roll from opening.

Freeze for 15 minutes, and then fry until lightly browned. Drizzle with guava jam and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
