The social network that celebrates Latin food
Ingredients:
1 store bought frozen pizza dough
1 8 oz package of mozzarella cheese, sliced thick
2 cups of slow cooked pork, see recipe for Costillas de Puerco
1 cup of homemade or your favorite BBQ sauce
1 large poblano pepper, cut into strips
1/2 medium red onion, cut into strips
1/4 cup of pickled jalapeno slices
cornmeal
olive oil
Directions:
Follow the directions for pizza dough, according to the package. Preheat oven to 450º F. Line baking sheet with foil paper or parchment paper, sprinkle with cornmeal, about 1/4 cup and drizzle with olive oil. When ready, lay the dough onto baking sheet and using your hands start forming dough, as round as you can get it. With your finger tips, punch into dough surface. Sprinkle a little more cornmeal on and drizzle with olive oil. Start by laying the mozzarella cheese, slow cooked pork, BBQ sauce, poblano strips, red onion, then the jalapeno slices.
Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes or until the dough becomes golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before slicing. I found it easier to slice, by transferring the pizza to a cutting board and using a pizza slicer.
