Coffee and cheese, yes I know, sounds weird, but don’t dismiss it until you’ve tried it! This is one of those things that were unique to my grandmother. She didn’t drink coffee but once in a while she would prepare this for breakfast, and the first time I tried it I was hooked!
Ingredients:
1 cup of coffee (Americano or what we call ‘guarapo’ in Venezuela), just make it a good cup of coffee
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
Cheese, preferably Gouda or Edam, diced
Bread
Preparation:
Make your coffee really hot, incorporate the sugar, drop the little cheesy cubes in there and wait for a minute until the cheese starts getting soft, then dive in with pieces of bread, you may need the assistance of a teaspoon. Enjoy!
