Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
4 tablespoons oil, plus extra for frying
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons dry white wine
water

Directions:

Mound the flour on a work surface and make a well in the center. Add the salt, sugar, oil, egg and wine to the well. Mix together all the ingredients with your fingertips, stirring in a circular motion until you achieve a uniform dough. Add water in tablespoonfuls until a soft dough forms. Knead lightly and let the dough rest about an hour. Tear off small pieces of dough and roll them out with a rolling pin. Cut in strips and fry in hot oil. Serve with a sprinkling of sugar.
