Black Beans, Rice and Ham in a Jiffy!!

Want a nutritious, scrumptious meal in a matter of minutes that your whole family will enjoy?
Try this all time favorite recipe from Chef Elsie Ramos.

Ingredients

Serves 4

1 cup long grain rice
2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup diced ham (or substitute with chorizo or sausage)
1 can black beans
½ cup tomato sauce
black pepper

*Use measurement cup that comes with the IMUSA Rice Cooker

Step by Step Instructions

Add first 5 ingredients to the rice cooker. Mix well and taste the chicken broth. For a spicy twist, add black pepper. Do not add salt. Both the diced ham and low-sodium chicken broth provide enough salt for the dish.

Turn on the rice cooker and cover. Let the rice cook for 30 minutes (or until it reaches desired texture).

* A Caldero instead of the Rice Cooker can also be used for this recipe.
