About Me
I consider myself a “foodie”. The love of cooking, creating and still keeping with the old ways of Puerto Rican traditional cooking is my goal. Not only will I concentrate on Puerto Rican dishes, but I will also bring dishes from my childhood days in Venezuela, Spain and the Canary Islands. I have travelled to many wonderful places and we will also journey there. Along the way I'll bring new and old recipes to the table.

Bacalao a Mi Manera - Cod, My Way

27 years ago I had the honor of becoming a Godmother to a beautiful girl. Her name, Carla. Through the years she has only brought joy into my life. Her mother and I have shared in all her accomplishments.

Now she is leaving New Jersey and making the grand move to West Hollywood, California and we are taking that journey with her to help her…

PINA COLADA PANCAKES 010

During one of my recent trips to Florida, I saw a picture of a pineapple upside-down pancake and immediately my mouth watered. It's been in the back of my mind and today is the day. I had no recipe; this is my interpretation.

As I write this, the husband is at the market buying…

SANCOCHO 006

While doing some shopping in my neck of the woods, I remembered that not too far away there is this wonderful little Venezuelan restaurant called “El Cocotero” located on 18th street between Seventh and Eighth Avenue, in New York City. All of a sudden I thought of their…

Hi Norma,

I am in New Mexico...the platanos come up from Mexico, but hard to find good ones..they are green and then when ripen they are starchy and not so sweet.  I am going to make the Platanos Rellenos...I miss them from my grandma and great grandma...I am excited about this cooking website and look forward to getting more recipes.
