I will have to purchase some next time i go shopping...my Richard loves green onions, as do I....will have to use them in a recipe for sure! Thanks!
Yes, exactly! They have a similar flavor, but they're not as potent. They're very easy to work with. You just have to make sure to clean them really well because they get a lot of dirt/sand stuck in between the leaves as they grow. I usually chop them first, put them in a deep bowl filled with water and then swish them about really well. Wait a few minutes for the dirt to settle to the bottom of the bowl, and then scoop out the leeks with a slotted spoon.
You are not going to believe this, but I have never cooked with leeks.....tell me about them...are they kinda like a milder version of onions??
